Mobile Service Van Conversion Case Study
Client Requirement:
Auto Solutions was tasked with converting a compact wheelbase van into a fully equipped mobile service vehicle. Our client required a practical, organised workspace that maximised every inch of available space while providing reliable off-grid power, safe storage and essential welfare facilities for engineers working on-site.
Despite the vehicle's smaller footprint, it needed to carry specialist equipment without compromising accessibility or functionality.
Our Approach:
Using a carefully planned layout, our team transformed the van into a highly efficient mobile workspace, ensuring every feature served a practical purpose.
The build included:
- 3kW Clayton Power System - Installed to provide dependable off-grid power for tools and equipment throughout the working day.
- Hyundai Generator - Integrated to deliver additional power when required, giving engineers greater flexibility on-site.
- bott UK Racking System - Professionally fitted to maximise storage capacity while keeping tools, parts and equipment organised and easy to access.
- Upgraded LED Lighting - Installed throughout the vehicle to improve visibility, making it easier and safer to work in all conditions.
- Safety & Welfare Packs - Included to ensure the vehicle was equipped with essential health, safety and welfare provisions for mobile working.
- Integrated Sink - Fitted to provide a convenient handwashing facility, improving hygiene and supporting engineers during long days on the road.
The Outcome:
The completed vehicle demonstrates how a small wheelbase van can be transformed into a fully equipped mobile workshop with the right design and planning. Every element has been carefully positioned to maximise storage, improve workflow and provide reliable power wherever the vehicle is operating.
With organised storage, independent power systems, enhanced lighting and practical welfare facilities, the finished conversion gives the client everything they need to work efficiently on-site while making the most of a smaller vehicle platform.
